MELLIE
hyperpop meets mainstream
Mellie is a 23 year old singer/composer/producer from Gouda, Holland.
At a very young age, she started writing stories. Soon after she knew she wanted to set these stories to music to make them come alive. She was only 11 years old when she started playing piano and guitar.
Always eager to understand how to fully produce her own music, she watched an Avicii–youtube tutorial on how he made his song ‘Dancing in my head’.
It was the start of a journey towards finding her own sound.
She set up a home recording studio in the basement of her parent’s house. At her high school, she spent schoolbreaks in the music room, teaching herself the basics of music producing.
At 18 years old, she started studying electronic music producing at the conservatory of Haarlem, Holland.
It is here that she found the sound that made her be the storyteller she always wanted to be. That sound is a combination of hyperpop, rock en mainstream pop music.
She ghost-writes for other singers as well and wrote songs for the movie “Bittersweet sixteen” by Jan Verheyen (2021).
By now she has catalogue of catchy, edgy popsongs.
With a passion for playing her music live, she is ready for what’s to come.
